80GB Hard Disc Drive Benefit: This drive, similar to what is used in a personal computer, can store recorded broadcast programming and dubbed content. The RD-XS32 will allow high-speed dubbing from the HDD to a DVD-RAM, DVD-R or DVD-RW without any deterioration of the digital MPEG-2 signal and provides instant access to recorded programs. So forget about searching for blank videotape when you want to record, simply hit RECORD and let the HDD do all the work.
Digital Cinema Progressive Benefit: Provides smoother, clearer picture from discs encoded at 24 frames per second. Especially useful for highly detailed or fast-moving images.
Multi-Drive Playback and Recording Benefit: Toshiba Multi-Drive DVD recorders are multi-format DVD recorders designed to provide the greatest flexibility in recording and playback by supporting DVD-RAM, DVD-R, and DVD-RW* recordable disc formats. The right format for every application:
· DVD-RAM is the most flexible of the recordable DVD formats when it comes to recording, editing and playback. Even more, re-record content approximately 100,000 times!
· DVD-R is a write-once format perfect for sharing treasured video moments with virtually anyone who has a DVD-Video player.
· DVD-RW* can rewrite content up to 1000 times and playback in a wide variety of computer drives and DVD-Video players
WMA & MP3 Playback Benefit: Play recordable Compact Discs (CD-R & CD-RW) with music stored in either the Windows Media™ Audio or MP3 file formats can be enjoyed.
VCR Plus+® C3 Timer Recording Benefit: The unit features a 181-channel cable compatible tuner and a 2-month, 32-event timer programming functionality. Users may input their own program data, or take advantage of the built-in Gemstar VCR+ technology for simple timer event programming
Auto Title/Chapter/Thumbnail Creation Benefit: Recorded content remains easy to find with the help of a menu that will be automatically created when you record. It displays the date and channel you recorded, along with a thumbnail of your recording by capturing the first video frame of the recording. The date and channel can be change to any 64-character title and the thumbnails to any image within the recording. Chapters within the recording can also be created by either predetermined intervals, or by the user selecting specific points within the recording. These chapters can also be named and assigned a specific thumbnail from any video frame within the chapter.
IR Blaster for Cable and DBS Box Control (C3 Control) Benefit: This handy cable can connect to the back of the recorder and transmits an infrared (IR) signal to change channels on your cable or satellite box. Allows no-hassle recordings from these two sources without the need to make channel selection ahead of time.
EASY NAVI Menu Benefit: An entry menu portal that provides quick and easy access to key features of the DVD recorder, such as Timer Recording or DV Capture. Additionally the EASY navi displays a "live action window", providing feedback to the user on the current status of the recorder, whether it is recording a program, in the Time Slip mode, or playing back content with DVD-RAM.
Time Slip Recording/Playback Definition: This feature allows the user to begin watching a recording that is already in progress. A Time Slip feature lets you 'pause' a live recording and then return to it later. During playback of both modes, a bar graph can be displayed on-screen depicting the 'progress' or location of the playback signal in relation to the real time recorded signal.
ColorStream Pro® Component Video Output Benefit: These outputs allow the video signal to be sent from the DVD player to a component video equipped interlaced or progressive scan TV. When this connection is utilized with today's HD-compatible sets, typical NTSC artifacts-like video noise, dot crawl, and flicker-are virtually eliminated, resulting in a low-noise, highly detailed picture with unequaled color purity.
